A Sentimental Touch: Creating a Bespoke Bridal Headpiece from a 1980s Veil

There’s something truly magical about weaving family history into a bride’s wedding day look –  a piece of the past carried gracefully into the future. Recently, I had the absolute joy of creating a personalised bridal headpiece for a lovely bride.

When she reached out, she shared the idea of incorporating her mother’s wedding veil from the 1980s into her headpiece design. I was immediately inspired – what a wonderful way to blend sentiment, sustainability, and timeless style.

Together, we discussed her vision, her dress, and the overall feel of her wedding – a romantic celebration in the South of France.

The original veil was exquisite: layers of fine tulle edged with vintage flowers. I carefully restored and reimagined these materials, handcrafting them into a bespoke headpiece that felt both modern and meaningful.

On the big day, she looked absolutely stunning – the handcrafted headpiece was the perfect finishing touch to her beautiful wedding dress, adding just the right hint of nostalgia and elegance. Seeing the photos from her French countryside wedding was such a joy – she truly glowed.

Creating pieces like this is why I adore what I do. Each headpiece tells a story –  personal, heartfelt, and completely unique to the bride who wears it.

💍 If you’d like to create your own bespoke bridal headpiece, whether inspired by family heirlooms or something entirely new, I’d love to bring your vision to life.
